Magnetic carpet

The Magnetic Carpet TM1 is the first accessory of its kind that does not use solenoids arranged in various positions in the thickness of a padding.

The feature that makes it unique is that it is made with a flexible printed circuit in order to obtain a large flat coil. In this way, a dense spiral is created as large as the entire surface of the carpet itself. By applying an oscillating signal, a magnetic field develops (perpendicular to the surface), that extends well beyond its size, with uniformity and power far superior to any other similar device.

The material chosen for the flexible printed circuit is Kapton, a polyimide film developed by DuPont capable of remaining stable in a wide range of temperatures, from -269 ° C to +400 ° C. In addition to being used in the best quality flexible printed circuit boards, Kapton is used in the outer layer of astronauts’ spacesuits, designed to provide thermal and micrometeoroid protection.

The device and the internal windings are protected by an electronic circuit capable of intervening, if the temperature exceeds 60° C. In fact, in the event of overheating, the protection system stops the operation of the Magnetic Carpet, disconnecting the power supply signal. When the winding temperature drops below 60 ° C, the electrical connections will be restored and the Magnetic Carpet will resume its normal functions. This feature enables greater protection for the device, if it is used with devices that supply direct current without an amplitude limiter or with high power electromagnetic signal amplifiers.

Led Functions

The carpet is equipped with two colored LEDs (green and red), placed on the junction box from which the connection cable with the frequency generator comes out.

When a classic alternating waveform is performed, the positive half-wave will turn on the green LED, while the negative half-wave will turn on the red LED.

Here is what could occur during operation with square wave alternating currents:

• if you use very low frequencies (e.g. 5 Hz), you will see the two LEDs light up alternately;
• at higher frequencies the two LEDs will be permanently on;
• at frequencies of the order of a few MHz, the brightness will be low;
• a signal Amplitude of a few volts will decrease the brightness.

If a positive Offset or a very high Duty Cycle is set, only one led will light up.

ATTENTION: to avoid damage to the flexible printed circuit, the magnetic mat must NEVER be folded on itself. For the same reason, it should be used delicately and so as not to undergo strong mechanical stress.
